TRAINER LEVEL1 CERTIFICATION

WBC Muay Thai Trainer/Cornerman Level1 Certificate Course

This program is intended to help increase the level of safety to athletes by helping provide a solid base and understanding of coaching/cornering. This is NOT a “Kru” course.

Participants will learn:

1) Pad Holding: Exercise vs Tactical and Strategic Pad Holding for Competition

2) Treating Cuts

3) How to deal with hematomas: during and after the fight.

4) Hand Wrapping 101: Thai Style/Western Style

5) Pre warm up massage with Namman Muay

6) Common methods of safe weight cutting

7) Concussions in Sport: Identifying and Recognizing Trauma, Protocol of Recovery and Recommendations to Returning safely to Training and Competition.

8) Know what the judges are looking for: Intense Course on judging and scoring criteria.

OFFICIALS' CERTIFICATION

WBC Muay Thai Officials' Intensive Course Level 1.

Participants will learn directly from one of the leading authorities on Muay Thai: Dr./Ajarn Thawuth Pluemsamran. Dr. Thawuth is the Chairman of WBC Muay Thai Officials and the Head Official at Channel 7 Stadium. He has taught and mentored countless officials in Thailand and around the world and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Hua Hin.

In addition, Dr. Thought has a solid command of the English language and therefore is able to clearly communicate and teach principles and concepts that often many Non-English speaking Thais have difficulty expressing. He will be assisted by Mr Pete Peterson, the Head WBC Muay Thai USA Official who also owns and runs the largest Muay Thai tournament in North and South America and one of the largest Muay Thai tournaments in the World –the TBA-SA.

The WBC Muay Thai Official’s Course is an intense study into one of the most important aspects of the sport of Muay Thai: Scoring Criteria and Judging. One of the many goals of the WBC Muay Thai is to help grow the sport through education. Surprisingly, 90% of participants in Muay Thai around the world have never taken a formal course of Muay Thai rules, regulations and standards making the sport susceptible to bad judging and poor refereeing that could result in unsafe standards for athletes.

The WBC Muay Thai Official’s Course will be a 4-5 day intensive experience that will be broken into several sections and modules. These will include lecture, slide presentations, video analysis and breakdowns, open discussions, role playing, etc. Participants will learn not only the fundamentals of scoring, but also the positions and protocol of all World Class Muay Thai Referees practice. Participants will have hands on experience as shadow judges as well as actual judging and refereeing opportunities alongside some of Thailand’s top officials
